Asset Owner Insights

On September 13, 2023, TSG and Rimes presented a comprehensive webinar diving into some of the key insights and findings derived from the 2023 edition of the Asset Owner Performance Measurement Survey. The webinar, sponsored by TSG and Rimes, showcased the culmination of extensive research that gathered data from over 30 global participants, covering a wide spectrum of asset owner segments. With over 110 thought-provoking questions, this comprehensive survey provides a holistic overview of performance measurement practices across various asset owner classes.

We are continuing to see more asset owners, particularly public pension funds, and, to a lesser degree, sovereign wealth funds, establish compliance with the GIPS standards,” said John D. Simpson, CIPM.  “Other types of asset owners may have settled on not claiming compliance, for the time being.”

This survey explored the diverse landscape of asset owners, including public and private pension funds, endowments, foundations, insurance companies, and sovereign wealth funds. It delved into crucial areas such as institutional information, performance and risk teams, GIPS standards, rate of return calculations, analytics, custodians and systems utilized, benchmarks, and more.
