Global Experts Reflect on Industry Evolution at 4th Annual International Performance Measurement Professional’s Day 

Somerset, NJ — April 22, 2025 — TSG proudly hosted the 4th Annual International Performance Measurement Professional’s Day, a global celebration dedicated to the professionals who measure, analyze, and communicate investment performance. This year’s virtual event, held on April 22, featured a dynamic roundtable discussion with leading voices in the field, focused on how the industry has evolved over the past two decades—and where it’s headed next.

Moderated by Doug Spaulding, editor of The Journal of Performance Measurement® and co-host of TSG Time with Pat and Doug, the webinar explored major shifts in performance measurement, outsourcing trends, and the rise of artificial intelligence.

Panelists included:

  • Michael Canty, CFA, Capital Group, recognized for his practical insights on the evolution of performance operations.
  • Alex Serman, CIPM, First Rate known for championing innovation and efficiency within performance teams.
  • John D. Simpson, CIPM, TSG, a long-time contributor to performance and risk analytics strategy.
  • David Spaulding, DPS, CIPM, TSG, founder and CEO of The Spaulding Group and a pioneer in performance measurement standards.
  • Karina Tanny, CFA, State Street, a respected voice on outsourcing and performance analytics technology. 

Together, they tackled topics such as:

  • The transformation of performance measurement practices over the past 10–20 years
  • The evolving role of outsourcing and its current viability
  • New challenges facing performance professionals in a tech-driven environment
  • The impact and promise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on measurement processes 

Attendees also participated in live polling on key industry issues—offering real-time feedback on outsourcing trends.
