Different Performance Presentation Standards – A Comparison: Part I
$25
The recently established AIMR-Investment Performance Council (IPC) has the goal of developing the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) into a world-wide standard. The IPC encourages individual countries to adopt GIPS at the local level. Given the variety of existing Performance Presentation Standards (PPS) in individual countries it has become increasingly difficult to obtain an overview of the different requirements and recommendations in each country. In a series of two articles the authors will describe the differences between existing local standards and GIPS. In Part I, they will focus on a comparison of the German DVFA-PPS with GIPS, thereby giving a detailed description of the standards. Particular attention will be paid to issues surronding the verification of compliance with the standards. The Journal of Performance Measurement is pleased to bring you this series.
