Inc. Magazine Reports on the Value of Specialized Training
An Area TSG Specializes In
Somerset, NJ – July 9, 2014. Inc Magazine reported that Glassdoor, an American “job and career site, and market research firm Harris Interactive conducted a survey of 1,000 U.S. employees about degrees and training. They reported that “A large majority of respondents–82 percent–said that their undergraduate degree has, indeed, helped to boost their career. However, when it comes to further acquiring the skills they need for their job, 72 percent of employees said they value specialized training over earning a degree.”
“Specialized knowledge can be gained in several ways. Reading professional journals is one way, and The Journal of Performance Measurement® is the best way for performance and risk measurement professionals to know what’s going on in our segment of the investment industry. Books are another way, and we offer several, through The Spaulding Series,” commented Patrick Fowler, TSG’s President and COO.
“TSG offers a wide array of specialized training classes, all devoted to various aspects of investment performance and risk measurement,” said Christopher Spaulding, TSG’s Executive Vice President of Strategy and Business Development. “We schedule ‘open enrollment’ sessions throughout the world, and conduct in-house and custom training, too.”
The survey reported that “63 percent of respondents said they believed that non-traditional ways of learning new skills–such as certificate programs, bootcamps, webinars and massive open online courses–could help them to also earn a bigger paycheck.” To learn more about TSG’s offerings, visit our website (www.tsgperformance.com) or contact Christopher Spaulding (CSpaulding@tsgperformance.com).
