The GIPS Annual Conference is this week in Boston. Today, I’m teaching a class on the GIPS(r) standards for the CFA Institute, and then will attend a meeting of the USIPC, the group that represents the U.S. for GIPS.
As for teaching these classes, I’ve been doing this for more than 10 years and enjoy it quite a bit. I was pleased to have been chosen and to have been able to continue to do this for so long. It’s kind of funny that I often end up teaching some of our competitors, but that’s okay.
Last week, the GIPS Executive Committee held a meeting in Singapore where they began to make some decisions on what will go into GIPS 2010. We expect to learn of these items this week and we’ll include a summary in our September newsletter. In addition, I may include some comments in our Blog.
