As we witness the struggles of many throughout the world who strive for freedom that we, here in the United States, and many others throughout the world have, we should be mindful of our own blessings. Achieving and maintaining freedom isn’t free…it comes with a cost. We should also therefore be mindful of the many who paid the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom that we today possess, as well as those throughout the world who continue to protect our freedom. We should also recall those brave heroes who, in Philadelphia on July 4, 1776, signed a document which very well could have been their death sentence.

While for many, July 4th is merely a holiday, we should remember that it’s much, much more. May we forever count ourselves blessed, and celebrate the struggles of others who long for the day when they, too, can live in freedom.
